About the Shared Workforce Program:
The Shared Workforce Program matches farm operators in need of seasonal workers with people who are interested in working in the industry. It started as a pilot project two years ago and has resulted in over 300 work deployments to support the planting, maintenance and harvesting of food products. We are also excited that it has provided a pathway to full-time employment in the industry for a number of the workers. The program is provincial in scope and we are excited with the opportunity to support industry and people that are seeking employment.

Funding for this initiative was provided by the New Brunswick’s Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, and the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries.

The Shared Workforce Program is administered by the Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick—the province’s largest general farm organization—dedicated to promoting the social and economic interests of all New Brunswick farmers.

New Brunswick’s agriculture and food industry is a vital pillar of the provincial economy—generating over $1 billion in farm cash receipts and more than $1.7 billion in processed agri-food products annually, while supporting over 17,000 full-time equivalent jobs across the province.
